New Hanover County Public Health is the lead organization for the Safe Kids Cape Fear Coalition, which serves New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties. The coalition focuses on reducing unintentional injury among youth by providing community education and implementing programs in the areas of child passenger safety, water safety, bicycle safety, fire safety, and medication/accidental poisoning safety. The coalition partners and collaborates with several organizations in the tri-county region committed to reducing childhood injury.
If you are interested in becoming involved with the Safe Kids Cape Fear Coalition, or want to request a program or presentation, contact coalition coordinators: Matthew McVey (mmcvey@nhcgov.com) and Paige Lundberg (plundberg@nhcgov.com).
