WISEWOMAN 

WISEWOMAN is the Well-Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation. This program provides cardiovascular disease screening, intervention, counseling and referral services to those who meet eligibility requirements.

The Wisewoman clinic is held within the Health Clinic every first and third Wednesday of each month starting in October.

  • Resident of New Hanover County
  • Between the ages of 35 to 64 years
  • Meet income guidelines- 250% of federal poverty level
  • No private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare

Those who qualify for the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program are also eligible for WiseWoman.

  • Risk factor testing for Heart Disease
  • Blood pressure, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar, and Height & Weight Monitoring
  • Healthy Behavior Support Services (classes, activities, health coaching)
  • Referrals to health care providers and low-cost medications sources
